Helen M. Ludgate, a longtime resident of Clarks Green and Port Charlotte, Fla., died on Friday in Danville. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph P. Ludgate.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by Abington Heights School District. Helen was a beloved wife and mother.
She is survived by eight children, Mary and husband, William Monahan; Marcy and husband, Peter Millet; Peggy and husband, Dan Day; Patrick and wife, Nargiza Ludgate; Joseph and wife, Sally Ludgate; Timothy and wife, Edie Ludgate; Ann and husband, Travis Yates; and Beth and husband, Jerry O'Connor; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Jack Barry, Lenora Barry and June Jeczewski; and a grandson, Brian Shade.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Friends may call prior to Mass at 9. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Columbia Montour Home Health Hospice.
