Helen L. Coolbaugh, Clarks Green died Wednesday morning after a brief illness at the VNA Hospice Unit in the Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late Archie and Ida Gleason Coolbaugh.  She was a 1943 graduate of Central High School and earned her business degree from Lackawanna College in 1944.  Prior to her retirement she was employed with the International Salt Company for over 39 years.  She was a member of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church.

Helen enjoyed golf, traveling, crossword puzzles and keeping up on current events.  She and her girlfriends organized the LMA in 1940 and are still meeting to this day.  She was a generous person who always placed others before herself.  She knitted prayer shawls for those who were ill, and hats and scarfs for the homeless.  Her generosity helped many family members achieve their accomplishments and dreams.  Fondly known to her family as "Honey," she will be deeply missed by all.

Surviving are two nieces, Judy Tetlak, Tunkhannock and Jean Hayes and her husband Gary, Clarks Green: a nephew, Allan LaCoe and his wife Gloria, Hilton Head, SC; three great nieces, Tara Clausen, Amy Bouzammour, Annabelle Hayes; three great nephews, Jeffrey LaCoe, Michael Tetlak and Benjamin Hayes; great great nieces and nephews, Keegan and Kadyn Bouzammour,  Avery Tetlak, and Sean Clausen.

She was preceded in death by a sister Mary LaCoe and brother in law Gilbert LaCoe both of whom she cared for during their illnesses.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St.  with service by Brent Stauffer, pastor of the Clarks Green United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow in Milwaukee Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday from 6-8pm and on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
