Grace L. Pullo, 88, formerly of Clarks Summit, PA, died peacefully at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD, surrounded in loving care by her daughters, Florence Schweitzer and Mary Toraldo. She was born on June 17, 1921 in Throop, PA, the second youngest of ten brothers and sisters, to Ross and Filomena Guerrero Lunario, who emigrated to the United States from Italy. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank S. Pullo, who died October 17, 2008.

She moved to New York City with her family during the Great Depression, and supported the war effort as an electrician's helper at the Todd Shipyard in Brooklyn. She also worked in the needle trades both in New York City and when she returned to Pennsylvania in the late 1950s. After the death of her husband, she moved to Maryland to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Paul Toraldo.

She was totally devoted to her children, providing them constant encouragement to follow their hearts and dreams. Her strength and determination to live a full life was an inspiration to all. A gentle and loving soul, her greatest joys were the simple pleasures of nature; a plant nurtured to blossom, or a garden tenderly cared to ripen in the sun. Most importantly, she loved to be surrounded by her family.

She leaves behind her beloved children; sons John and his wife, Angela, Clarks Summit; Frank and his wife, Jennifer, Seattle, WA; daughters Florence Schweitzer, Syracuse, NY and Mary Grace Toraldo and her husband, Paul, Hanover, MD; grandsons, John Pullo Jr. and his wife, Andrea, Clarks Summit; Christian Toraldo, New York City; Jason Toraldo, Baltimore, MD; Ted Schweitzer and his wife Carol, Arlington, VA; granddaughters, Sara Schweitzer, Syracuse, NY; and Mia Pullo, Seattle; a great granddaughter, Rachel Light, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters, and an infant grandson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore.
