Grace H. "Jinx" Little, Pittston, formerly of Clarks Green, died Monday morning at the Wesley Village Campus in Pittston. She was the widow of Richard Little III, who died Jan. 24, 1998.
Born May 5, 1928, in Pittsfield, Mass., daughter of the late Alfred W. and Frances Patton Hough, she was a member of the Church of Epiphany in Glenburn, where she was once active in its Altar Guild and in the senior choir. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree. In 1967, she graduated from the Mercedian School of Practical Nursing in Scranton. She then worked as an L.P.N. in Scranton hospitals, finishing her career as a scrub nurse for a local surgeon. She had a love for the performing arts and was a member of the Singers Guild in Scranton and the Abington Ensemble, as well as the Abington Players. She served on the board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield and was a member and former president of the Junior League of Scranton.
Grace will always be remembered for her love of family and her wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are a son, Richard Little and wife, Barbara, Fleetville; two daughters, Linda J. Little, Scranton; and Christine Little, Vienna, Austria; a granddaughter, Rachel Little, a college student in Lancaster; her cat, Murli; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Gordon W. Hough; and a sister, Jean Wierum.
A memorial service will be held at Church of the Epiphany in the fall, when her daughter, Christine, can return from Austria. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of Epiphany, Glenburn.
