Gerlinde "Jessie" Hepplewhite, 71, of Scott Twp., died Sunday evening at her home. She was the wife of Robert Hepplewhite, The couple has been married for 52 Years.
Born in Karlsbad (Sudetenland) Germany, she was the daughter of the late Josefine Kopp Lennartz and Karl Kopp. She was educated in France and was employed at Mayflower Manufacturing in Old Forge for over thirty two years. Later, she worked as an office manager for the family business, Brooklyn Truck and Equipment in Brooklyn, NY.
Also surviving are: A son William Hepplewhite and his wife Dianne Schlasta- Hepplewhite, Scott Twp., a daughter Elizabeth Maslyar and husband Robert, Springville; two sisters Christa Lennartz Burke and her husband Lee, Clarks Summit; Josephine Lennartz Silvey and her husband Thomas, Traphill, NC; a brother Werner Lennartz, and his wife Martine, Aizy-Jouy, France; a daughter-in-law Emma Lee Bryndzia Hepplewhite and her daughter Leah ; three grandsons: Collin, Lliam Hepplewhite, and Christopher Maslyar. There are also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Charles Hepplewhite, a grandson Kyle Maslyar, and a brother Manfred Lennartz.
She was an avid bowler and a member of the Penn State President's Club. She was also a philanthropist of many charities.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. Interment will follow in Abington Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home.
