Listen to Obituary

Gerald M. (Jerry) Clum, 83, of South Abington Township passed away peacefully at his home on July 11, 2021 with his wife of 59 years Rose Marie at his side.

Born in Jermyn, Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Mildred (Walton) and his brothers Stanley and Kenny Clum.  He is survived by his beloved wife Rose Marie (Kashetta) of 59 years. Surviving are his sons Gerald W. (Orna) and Eric (Stacy); grandchildren Gerald S. (Jourdan), Matthew and Natalie; great grandchildren Elliot and Henry; along with many nephews and nieces.

Jerry served in the Army during the Korean Conflict building roads and bridges for the Army Corps of Engineers.  After arriving home he began work in the fire protection field.  After over 40 years as a fire protection entrepreneur, from installing pipe to creating the Dropmaster equipment, he retired to begin a relaxing life with Rose Marie.  They traveled during the winter months escaping the cold to the southern climate in Florida and South Carolina, enjoying the sunrises and sunsets.

Jerry loved spending his summer months fishing and boating at the St. Lawrence River with his family and friends, passing on his love of the river to his sons and grandchildren, while always basking in the summer sun.  Jerry enjoyed hunting and traveling in PA, Montana, South Dakota and Tennessee with family and friends looking for the perfect trophy.

The Clum family would like to extend a special thank you to all the care givers who have assisted and provided hours of support to Jerry and the family over the past year.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 by Rev. John Lapera, pastor.
