Gerald F. Hawk Sr., 69, of Falls Twp., died Monday evening at the hospice unit in Mercy Hospital.

He was the widower of Diane DeMeck Hawk, who died in 2002.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Edward A. and Elizabeth Grill Hawk, he was a graduate of Falls-Overfield High School and an Army veteran. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an iron worker and was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 489. He was also a member of VFW Post 7069, Clarks Summit, and Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.

He was a loving husband and devoted father who enjoyed hunting and spending time in the great outdoors. He also cherished the time he spent with his grandson, Devon. In his spare time, he was involved with all types of projects. Gerald was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone at any time. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are two sons, Gerald Hawk Jr., Factoryville; and Edward Hawk, Dalton; two daughters, Lisa A. Hawk and Donna Hawk, both of Dalton; a grandson Devon J. Hawk; and a brother Edward Hawk, Mill City.

The funeral will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Friends may call Thursday, 5 until service time. Interment, private at the convenience of the family.
