George John Puhlik, 76, Clarks Summit, died Friday at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his companion of many years, Dorothy Radkiewicz.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Peter and Julie Puhlik, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School. He was employed by Chamberlain and General Dynamics before retirement. He served in the Army. He was an avid fan of football and baseball and loved traveling to county fairs. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore.
A special thank you to the Leonard DeRigge family, Scott Gardner and Nora Hinkley for the kindness given through the years to George, to the VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center for the loving care provided for him and to his many companions at Community Medical Center who kept him company.
Surviving are a niece, Shirley Gallagher; and three nephews, Paul Sekol, David and Eugene.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Puhlik.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with Mass at 9:30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Hollisterville.
Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
