George Klein Moore, Jr. formerly of Harrington,DE, quietly passed into the Lord's presence on May 25, 2015.
Born on July 24, 1918, in Church Hill, MD. the son of George Moore and Gertrude Voshell Moore, Klein married Olive Genevieve Skinner in 1940.
They lived in Harrington for 66 years until they moved to Pennsylvania in 2006. As a young man he worked on his family's dairy farm in Maryland and married the girl from a neighboring farm. He believed in hard work and was proud to be able to provide for his family. During his life, he worked as a Bond Bread salesman and a salesman for C.F. Swartz Motor Company. In his retirement, he worked as a salesman at Sears and worked for his daughter, Carol Ann Porter at the Harrington Journal. Klein and Genevieve were also known for owning Moore's Dairy Store in Harrington until 1978.
Klein was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown for 20 years. He was a godly man who was committed to Jesus Christ. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and singing about his Lord and spent time every evening reading the Bible. Klein was kind and generous and had a smile for everyone. A devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and loyal friend, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by Genevieve, his wife of nearly 72 years; daughters, Kaye Moore Tubbs and Carol Ann Porter; son, Richard Klein Moore; brothers, Charles and William Moore; and sister, Betty Savage.
He is survived by a sister, Joanne Galentine; grandchildren, Eva Shahan, Kim Walter, Bill Porter, Jay Porter, Dwain Moore, Dirk Moore, Kristin Moore, and Summer Kinder; daughter-in-law, Faye Moore; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Independent Bible Fellowship Church, 6797 Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington, Delaware 19952, on Monday, June 1 at 11am.
Interment will follow the service at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
