George L. Carpenter, Jr.

George L. Carpenter, Jr. passed away April 24, 2021, at 89 years old.

He was a proud veteran of the US Coast Guard, a retiree from the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad, and a loving, devoted family man. His greatest accomplishment in life, besides receiving the Treasury Department's Silver Lifesaving Medal, was his family.

He was predeceased by his wife Dolores Carpenter (Holgate).

At the time of death, he is survived by his sibling Arthur Carpenter (wife Rose-May); two children Dale L. Carpenter and Laurie A. Schildt; four grandchildren Ashley Turner, Micah Carpenter, David Gross, and Leslie Schildt; and six great-grandchildren Theodore Turner, Abigail Gross, Caleb Gross, Simeon Gross, Daniel Gross, and Ana Gross.

He was laid to rest beside his beloved wife of 47 years at Miller Cemetery in Glenburn on May 8, 2021.
