Geneva B. Jones, 92, of Clarks Summit, died Monday afternoon at the Geisinger Mountain View Care Center in Scranton. She was the wife of the late Frank W. Jones Jr. who died in 1979.
Born in Booneville Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Hazel Woodard Bowman. She was a graduate of Lincoln County High School and went on to attend Harper College in New York City. Geneva proudly served her country in the US Navy during World War II. She was a former member of the Order Of the Eastern Star in Scranton as well as a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church.
Surviving is a son Robert Jones and his wife Judy, Dalton; a sister Della Baker Crab Orchard KY; a granddaughter Kara Martin and her husband Christopher, Duryea; a grandson Dr. Robert Jones II, Philadelphia two great grandchildren Connor and Reagan Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son Frank W. Jones III and several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Geisinger Mountain View Care Center for their wonderful care and compassion that they gave to Geneva during her stay.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Shady Lane Cemetery.
Family will receive friends noon until time of service.
