Gail A. Learn

Gail A. Learn, Peckville, died unexpectedly Sunday at Regional Hospital in Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Brian and Mary Toro Learn. Gail graduated from Abington Heights High School, earned her Bachelors degree at Penn State University, and later achieved a Masters degree from Marywood College in Social Work. Prior to her retirement, Gail worked many years as a licensed clinical therapist and served as regional director of mental health services at Merakey Behavioral Health, Carbondale. She was also a member of Countryside Community Church in Newton, serving as a lay leader and a long time member of the choir.

Gail enjoyed music, golfing, gardening, Penn State sporting events and crafts. However, her passion was spending time with her family and close friends.

Surviving are a brother Brian Learn and his wife, Sakhone, Westminster, MD; nieces Elizabeth Learn, San Francisco, CA and Kathryn Learn, Philadelphia, PA; several cousins, aunts and uncles; and numerous close friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 12 noon at Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Dr., Clarks Summit with services by Rev. James Hollister.  Private burial service was in Newton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Countryside Community Church.
