On February 22, Frederick Habeeb, more commonly known as Rick, lost his battle with acute myeloid leukemia.  He spent the last 10 months in remission enjoying the many activities that he loved, trap shooting, visiting with friends on the Saint Lawrence River, hunting, and especially loved living on the beach in Cape Canaveral, FL for the last six weeks of his life.  He is survived by his wife Gladys.

Rick was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Frederick and Georgine Habeeb. As a child he spent many summers with family in Chinchilla and graduated high school from Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. In high school he was captain of his football team and elected all-state guard. He later honorably served in the Navy on the USS Irex submarine touring the Mediterranean as the ship's swimmer. He returned locally to co-found Rick's Auto Sales, Eastern Cycle and City Auto Mart and remained active in the automobile business until retirement.

Rick is survived by three sons, Todd Habeeb and his wife Marlo, Dunmore, Rob Habeeb and his wife Barbara, Wayne, NJ, and Mark Habeeb and his wife Jennifer, Ridgefield, CT; a sister Kathleen Senofonte, husband Thomas, Waverly; a brother Gregg Habeeb, Chinchilla; four grandsons Dylan, Jack, Mark and Dean; two granddaughters Taylor and Carly; two stepsons Brian Crispell and his wife Dana, Media, PA, John Crispell and his wife Karen, Wilkes Barre, PA; two step grandsons Thomas and Travis; two step granddaughters Macy and Mina; numerous nieces and nephews.

A prayer service will be held Saturday, February 25, at 3:30 PM from the Lawrence Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call from 2 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
