Fred Habeeb, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday evening at Holy Family Residence, Dunmore. He was the widow of the late Georgine Violet Habeeb who died in 2007, the couple had been married for 67 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Abraham and Mary Joseph Habeeb, he had been a resident of the Clarks Summit area since 1933. He attended St. Ann's Maronite Church in Scranton.

A lifetime Entrepreneur since the age of 10, he founded many businesses in the car industry. In the Lebonese community he was known by all as "Uncle Fred".

Although his last years were wrought with immeasurable obstacles, he continually sought out a purpose for his life. He tried to make all those around him laugh. He truly was a "people" person and all those lives he touched, loved him.

His family gives much thanks and gratitude to all his caregivers and his family at Holy Family Residence that were angels sent to him by God.

Surviving are two sons, Rick Habeeb and his wife Gladys, Tunkhannock; and Gregg Habeeb, Chinchilla; a daughter, Kathee Senofonte and her husband Tom, Waverly; a brother Bob Habeeb, So. Abington Twp., eight grandchildren, Todd, Rob, Mark, Gregory, Jennifer and John Habeeb, Karrie Millett and Marni Senofonte; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Olga, Mamie, Sr. Maronita, Nellie, Josie, Frieda, Alice, Clara, and Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30a.m. from the Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call on Sunday from 4-6pm at the Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton. 18509
