Frank S. Pullo, 91, of Clarks Summit, died peacefully at home on Friday. He and his wife, the former Grace Lunario, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in April.

Born on the Lower East Side of New York City, he was the last of four children to the late Giovanni Luigi and Grazia Perrone Pullo, who immigrated to the United States from Sicily. He was educated in the New York City Catholic Schools. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army in the Pacific Theater. After World War II, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in New York City and later in Scranton until his retirement in 1980.

A naturally gifted artist, writer, and musician, his love of the Renaissance masters filled his sketch pads and canvas. He read widely, and enjoyed talking about history and the topics of the day, and especially life in early 20th century America. His humility and sense of humor often shielded his quiet intelligence, but readily gave way to his sense of honor and complete devotion to his family. Ever patient and respectful, he was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.

He also leaves behind his beloved children; sons, John and his wife, Angela, Clarks Summit, Frank and his wife, Jennifer, Seattle, WA; daughters, Florence Schweitzer, Syracuse, NY and Mary Grace Toraldo and her husband, Paul, Hanover, MD; grandsons, John Pullo Jr. And his wife, Andrea, Manchester, NH, Christian Toraldo, New York City, Jason Toraldo, Baltimore, MD, Ted Schweitzer, Arlington, VA; granddaughters, Sarah Schweitzer, Syracuse, NY, and Mia Pullo, Seattle; and a great granddaughter; a sister, Mildred Marulli, Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph, a sister Ann Schiro, and an infant grandson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10am from Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore.

Friends may call on Monday from 5-8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
