Frank J. Burke, 55, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning at the VNA Hospice unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center In Scranton. He was the husband of Rachel Keisling Burke. The couple has been married for 17 years
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Patricia Kaub Burke and the late Edward J. Burke.
He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Frank was formerly employed as a DJ for Froggy 101 as well as being a DJ for many various weddings and celebrations. He also was a loan specialist for Sallie Mae. He was a volunteer for the Abington Community Library and the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. He was a member of Parker Hill Community Church.
Frank had a great love for animals and an even greater passion for his music and collecting movies. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving is a brother Edward Burke and his wife Judy, Lake Ariel; two nieces Aubrey Burke, Pittsburgh; and Abigail Burke, Lake Ariel; a nephew Cody Burke, Dickson City; two uncles Jim Kaub, Clarks Summit; and Frank Kaub and his wife Barbara, Factoryville; sister-in-law Sarah Snyder and her husband Andy, Clarks Summit and their children Aiden and Gabi Snyder; a brother-in-law Mathew Keisling and his wife Brooke, Clarks Summit and their children Linley and Paige Keisling; a mother-in-law Alice Keisling, Clarks Summit. Frank will now be reunited with his beloved dog Fozzie.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Ralph B. Keisling.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 10am from the Parker Hill Community Church, 607 N. Abington Rd. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Rev. Paul Bell, pastor of Parker Hill Community Church, and Pastor Jeremy Mullen. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public calling hours.
