Florence Helen Pentasuglio, 84, of Clarks Summit, died Monday afternoon shortly after admission to Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the wife of Martin J. Pentasuglio Sr. The couple had been married for 64 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Christina DeCarlo Tutino. Working alongside her husband, they operated Pango's Market in Scranton.
Florence was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She found great power in prayer, and volunteered her time at her church. Florence had a beautiful presence, sense of humor and generous spirit. She found joy in storytelling and bringing smiles to the faces of those around her. She had profound love for her family, to whom she dedicated her life.
Also surviving are two daughters, Leandra Wynn and husband, Martin; and Josele Jones, both of Clarks Summit; a brother, Dominic Tutino and wife, Anita, New Jersey; a sister, Ann Pricci, Clarks Summit; six grandchildren, Scott and wife, Marcy, Clarks Summit; Ryan Wynn and wife, Christina, Arlington, Va.; Justin Wynn, New York City; Jessica Jones, Green Ridge; Kristin Wynn, Pittsburgh; and Kathryn Wynn, New York City; and five great-grandchildren, Marni, Hunter, Brock and Tate Pentasuglio, and Emma Sun Wynn.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Martin J. Pentasuglio Jr.; a grandson, Mark Pentasuglio; a brother, Joseph Tutino; and a niece, Christine Argonish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Friends attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow in the Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton.
