Florence G. "Dolly" Miller Basalyga of South Abington Twp. died Sunday evening at Abington Manor Nursing Home after a brief stay. She was the wife of Frank "Ted" Basalyga. The couple has been married since 1957.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Charles and Louise Puhl Miller, she was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Scranton.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who deeply cared for and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas and wife, Colleen, Scranton; and Raymond and wife, Sherri, South Abington Twp.; a daughter, Andrea Basalyga-Phillips and husband, Peter, East Benton; a brother, Charles Miller, Scranton; a sister, Louise Baltrusaitis, Scranton; nine grandchildren, Jared and Trent Phillips and Zachary, Ali Nicole, Brittney, Alicia, Justin, Paige and Garrett Basalyga; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Glenn Basalyga, on Nov. 6 1986; and two sisters, Mary Ann Pantano and Romaine Larkin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, by the Rev. John M. Lapera. Interment will follow at Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
