Listen to Obituary

Eveline Deresinski, 100, of Clarks Summit, PA, entered into the arms of Jesus, August 18, 2020 at Abington Manor, Clarks Summit, PA.  She was the widow of Leo Deresinski who passed in 1978.

Evie was born one of 11 children in Riverton, Kansas.  In her junior year of high school, she became a built-in babysitter for her music teacher and his wife, when she moved with them to Paola, Kansas.  She loved music and, during her high school years, she was an excellent French Horn player and won a highly superior rating in French Horn solos.

During WWII, Evie went to California to work in the Mare Island Naval Shipyards.  While there, her brother, Bryon, introduced her by mail to Leo.  They fell in love thru their letters and he asked her to come to Pennsylvania instead of him moving to California, due to a war injury.  Five weeks after meeting, they were married.

Evie was very active in the PA Women's Club where she accepted presidency of the Factoryville Club, serving 2 terms.  After that, she served as president of the Wyoming County Club.  Later she was approached to serve as the President of the District, unfortunately, had to decline as too much travel was required.

After moving to Lutherwood, she took care of the flower gardens there.  Being too far from friends and her church, she moved to Linden Crest in Clarks Summit where she continued to care for the gardens there for over 20 years.

Evie leaves behind 1 sister: Valerie Eggert of Grove, Oklahoma, along with several nieces and nephews.

Services were held privately with arrangements entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
