Eugene Walsh Sr., 89, of North Scranton, died Tuesday at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton. His wife of 61 years is Betty Dickinson Walsh.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Bertha Miller Walsh, he was a World War II Army veteran. After retiring from Yellow Freight, he worked for United Neighborhood Center. He was a member of the Clarks Summit VFW Post 7069.
Surviving are children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a brother, Paul Walsh and his wife, Dorothy.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Al Walsh; and a grandson, Shawn Walsh.
