Ernest F. Schultz, 80, of Ransom Township, died Thursday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. He was the husband of the former Marion Stott. The couple would have celebrated their 57 th wedding anniversary this coming May.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Sophie Zawicki Schultz. He was a 1954 graduate of Scranton Tech and prior to his retirement was employed as a Sales Manager for Tridon Services Inc. He was a member of the Country Alliance Church in Newton.
Ernie was an incredible husband and father, and most enjoyed spending time with his family. He always made a point of letting his family know how important and loved they were, often by declaring, "I love this family!" His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him so much happiness, love and laughter. Ernie also enjoyed spending his time working and fixing things around his home. He was a great handyman and would figure out ways to fix almost anything. He also enjoyed going for walks, vacationing with family in Cape Cod, and watching old movies. Ernie was an active member at the Country Alliance Church where he had served as treasurer and on the board of trustees. He was also a former member of the Ransom Lions Club.
Also surviving are three sons Dave Schultz, Wes Schultz, and Ernie Schultz and his wife, Jennifer, all of Ransom; two daughters Jennifer Scott and Aimee McGarry and her husband Patrick, all of Ransom; a sister-in-law Shirley Schultz, Annapolis MD; ten grandchildren Vanessa Walters, Cassy Rupert, Lacey, Emily, and John McGarry, Bryce, Ashlyn, Quinton, Miles, and Titus Schultz; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Schultz.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 6pm from the Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Dr. Clarks Summit Pa. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Milwaukee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4pm until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Countryside Community Church at above address or the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams St, Dunmore Pa. 18512.
