Services have been set for Ernest Craig Hunt, who passed on December 22, 2020. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, Maple Drive, Lake Winola. The church will be working at limited capacity (25% or 147 people max in the building) as well as requiring all to wear masks at all times while inside. Social distancing will also be required.
Ernest Craig Hunt of Lake Winola passed away at Hospice of the Sacred Heart on December 22 nd .
He was born in Scranton but lived his life at Lake Winola. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Roberta Schroeder Hunt.
Son of the late Charles Hunt and Emily Drake Hunt Smith, Ernest was a 1955 graduate of Falls Overfield High School and worked in the carpentry/contracting field and owned many apartments in the Scranton area. He built his own home, doing all the masonry, plumbing, heating, and electrical. He was an avid sailor and snowboarder and loved his motorcycle. He loved ice and roller skating. He enjoyed a challenge and would invent things to do, like wind skating and wind biking, and enjoyed traveling around the world and camping all over the U.S. with his wife and children.
He was an active member of the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, having been a Sunday School teacher for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Susan Petty, Clarks Summit, Stephen Hunt (Linda), Hershey, and Linda (Jim) Howells of Ransom; four grandchildren: Stephen Howells, Scranton, Jaime (Alec) Senofonte, Waverly, and twins Evan and Ian Hunt, Hershey; four great grandchildren: Noah and Stevie Howells, and Everly and Roman Senofonte; his sister Charlotte Birk, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Hunt.
There will be a memorial service at some time in the future and memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
