Emma (Mallick) Petrovich, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 2, 2026, at her home in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, surrounded by the love of a family who will forever cherish her memory.

Born in Olyphant, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michaelangelo and Josephine (Bombica) Mallick. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph W. Petrovich; her daughter, Nancy Dietrich; her grandson, Robbie J. Schlappe; her son-in-law, Robert W. "Bob" Schlappe; her brother, Anthony J. Mallick; and her three sisters, Aida Browne, Gilda Malinosky, and Adeline T. Dellario.

Emma is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Schlappe; her granddaughter, Tracy Greene, and husband, Norman Greene; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Heidi, Linsey, and Normy; and her cherished great-great-grandson, Huxley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Blessed with 102 remarkable years of life, Emma was a woman of extraordinary talent, unwavering faith, and endless love. She possessed a beautiful singing voice that brought joy to those fortunate enough to hear her. A gifted seamstress, Emma operated her own tailoring business in her home, where she used her remarkable skills to create beautiful clothing from scratch. Her creativity extended to crocheting, and she lovingly crafted countless blankets and delicate doilies, many of which will remain treasured keepsakes for generations to come.

Emma's Italian heritage was a beautiful part of who she was, especially in her kitchen. An exceptional cook, she filled her home with the comforting aromas of homemade pasta, meatballs, and her treasured family sauce recipes. Her meals were made with love, and gathering around her table meant more than simply sharing food. It meant sharing stories, laughter, traditions, and memories that her family will carry with them forever.

Above all else, Emma's greatest joy was her family. She was blessed to witness five generations of her family, a rare and beautiful gift. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones, especially the younger generations, to whom she passed down her Italian traditions, stories, and wisdom. Her kindness and warmth touched not only her family but also her many friends and neighbors, who loved her dearly.

Emma was a devoted Catholic whose faith in God remained the foundation of her life. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Snows Church in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary was evident in her daily prayers, as she faithfully prayed her rosary each day. Through every joy and hardship, Emma placed her trust in the Lord, finding strength, comfort, and peace in her faith.

A woman of remarkable independence and determination, Emma continued living on her own in Clarks Summit until the age of 98, before moving to Lehighton, Pennsylvania, to be closer to her family.

Emma's 102 years on this earth were truly a blessing from God. Her life was a beautiful example of faith, strength, kindness, and unconditional love. Although her earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy will continue through the five generations she was blessed to know and love. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and reunited with those who went before her.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23

Emma will be deeply missed, forever loved, and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope that, through God's grace, they will one day be reunited.

May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
