Elsie Parlanti of Clarks Summit died Sunday afternoon in the Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit. She was the wife of the late Olindo "Leonard" Parlanti, who died in 1986.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Dominick and Italia Cenci, she was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, West Side Senior Center and PKY Pinochle Club. She was the matriarch of the family who will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She died surrounded by four generations of her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Nora Strachham and husband, John; and Liana Smith and husband, Peter, all of Glenburn; two sisters, Jean Romanini, Glenburn; and Clara Jones, Exton; five grandchildren, Debra Lick and husband, Joseph; Jacqui Tunis and husband, Mark; Ashley Goff and husband, Edward; Peter Smith and wife, Elizabeth; and Jason Smith; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, to be celebrated by Monsignor James McGarry, pastor. Friends are asked to go directly to church. Entombment, Glenwood Mausoleum, Morgan Highway.

Friends may call today, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 300 Mulberry St., Suite 305, Scranton, PA 18503.
