Elizabeth Stark ("Betty")
Elizabeth Jane Stark, 98, of Bealeton VA., formerly of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday afternoon at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Bealeton, VA. She was the widow of the late Harold Vernon Stark, who died in 1987.
Born in Osceola Mills PA., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Sankey Phillips. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School in Tyrone, PA. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family. She served as a Ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit, where she was also a member of the choir and the women's Dorcas Circle. She also served as Chairman of Volunteers and was a member of the Board of the Abington Community Library for over 30 years.
She is survived by her son Peter, his wife Kathleen, and grandsons Sean and Ryan Stark of Haymarket, VA, as well as by her older brother Fred of Hanover, NH and younger brother Robert of Cordele, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and younger siblings Lois Parsons and William Phillips.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 PM from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Rev. William Carter, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in Clarks Green Cemetery.

Friends may call on Saturday from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
