Elizabeth "Betty" Davies Link of Tunkhannock and Handsome Lake, Pa., died Thursday afternoon at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock. She was the widow of Edward Link, who died in March of 2008.

Born in the Summit Hill section of Clarks Summit, daughter of the late John J. and Lila McSherry Davies, she was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and a member of Nativity BVM Church, Tunkhannock.

For 35 years, Betty fought bravely against cancer, and had nine relapses. She gave nothing but encouragement and hope to her family. Her unwavering faith in God during this time made her a model of patience and courage. She was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. She passed away in peace and love, two qualities she always possessed, surrounded by her daughter and niece.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan Link, with whom she resided; and a niece, Patsy Tylutki.

She was also proceeded in death by a sister, Winnie Suscavage.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Nativity BVM Church, to be celebrated by the Rev. Richard Polmounter, pastor. Friends and family may go directly to the church. Interment, Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.

Friends and family may call Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m., at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

Memorials may be made to the Lackawanna County Humane Society, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
