Elizabeth A. Jones, Chinchilla, died Friday afternoon at the Abington Manor Nursing Home. She was the widow of Edward Jones who died in 1980.
Born in Wilkes Barre she was the daughter of the late William James Thomas and Elizabeth A. Thomas. She was a member of Chinchilla United Methodist Church and a strong supporter of the local American Cancer Society.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing bridge and hand stitch work. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Surviving are her daughter and care giver, Liz A. Jackson, Chinchilla; three sons, Edward P., Minneapolis Minnesota, Kenneth W., United Kingdom, and W. Keith, Endwell, New York; 5 grandchildren, Stasi Jackson, Shannon Ashworth, Alex Jones, Maggie Jones, and Laura Jones; three great grandchildren Mikaela, Laurelyn, and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday form 10am until time of the service.
