Elizabeth Ann Jackson, 66, of Chinchilla, died Sunday evening at Commonwealth Hospice of Northeast PA, Scranton. She was the widow of James Jackson, who died in 2005.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Thomas Jones, she received her MASTER'S DEGREE from the University of Scranton. Before retirement, she was a professor at Keystone College, where she was a former chair of the business department and for a time the interim dean. She was awarded the Chamberlin Chair for excellence in teaching, and was featured as a Northeast Woman in the Scranton Times. She was a member of the Chinchilla United Methodist Church and the Abington Senior Center.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, her Bible study group, her friends and her students.
Surviving are two daughters, Stasi Jackson and her fiancé, Judson Hinkley, Kingsley; and Shannon Lynn Ashworth and her husband, Shawn, South Abington Twp.; three grandchildren, Mikaela and Laurelyn Maria and Jackson Ashworth; three brothers, Edward Jones, Minnesota; Dr. Kip Jones, England; and Keith Jones, Endicott, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Chinchilla United Methodist Church, 411 Layton Road, Chinchilla, with services by the Rev. Anthony Schwartz, pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & CREMATION SERVICES, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
