Elizabeth I. "Betsey" Cooper, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday at her home in Clarks Green.  She was married to Harold B. "Scooge" Cooper. Jr. who died on April 17, 1994. Born April 9, 1933 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Albert George and Constance Osborne Isaacs and stepdaughter of Marion M. Isaacs.

Betsey's life was devoted to her family. The sun rose and set on her grandchildren.  She considered her cherished great-grandchildren a special bonus.  She loved them all dearly. After Scooge passed, she continued to gather all her family for an annual trip to Skytop Lodge in the Poconos, where they enjoyed sharing old stories and making new memories.  She loved her summers spent at Lake Wallenpaupack and later Lake Winola. Betsey's passion for gardening filled her life with color and often found her at local gardening events.  A strong advocate of community volunteering, Betsey enjoyed her many years assisting at the Waverly Community House, Waverly Grade School, VNA Hospice, First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, and the American Red Cross.  She was a member of The Country Club of Scranton, the Waverly Club, the Junior League of Scranton, The Garden Exchange, The Waverly Woman's Club, and The Canoe Club.

Surviving are her children, Harold Cooper III (Geraldine) Westport, MA; Thomas Cooper (Loretta) Allenwood NJ; Connie Baruffaldi (Carl) Glenburn, PA;

grandchildren, George, Wyatt, and Trevor Cooper, Patricia Agabiti and Christian Cooper, Elizabeth Wardenski and Clare Kull; great-grandchildren, Francesca Kull and Harry Agabiti V; and sister-in-law Sandra Phillips.

Her family would like to thank MJ Igoe, Christine Ovalle, and her caregivers for the exceptional care and friendship they provided Betsey.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.  A celebration of Betsey's life will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit.
