Elizabeth "Betty" Bellantoni, 56, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning at the Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospital. Her husband is Michael Bellantoni. The couple had been married since 1978.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rita Richie Boscia. She was a realtor for ERA One Source Realty in Clarks Summit, and a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church. She was involved in many local organizations, including the Abington Heights Elementary, Middle School and High School PTAs, and the formation of a community writers group and numerous writers retreats. Betty and her husband established the Lackawanna Chapter of the Little League Challenger Division in 1991, a baseball league for children with special needs.

Betty was always willing to lend a hand and make a difference, she radiated kindness and you couldn't help but feel positive when you were around her. She only ever saw the good in people and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Betty was described as outgoing, funny and amazing by all of her friends.

Mike and Anthony would like to thank the community and all of Betty's friends for their compassion and support.

Surviving are a son, Anthony, New York City; four sisters, Monica Boscia, Mances Kuzcima, Celie Esposito and Clare Boscia, all of New York; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Nick, Chris, Mike and Billy Boscia.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Benedict, Newton-Ransom Blvd., Clarks Summit. All attending are asked to go directly to church. Friends may call Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
