Eleanor O. Snyder, of N. Huntingdon, formerly of Dalton, died Saturday at Baldock Nursing Home in N. Huntingdon. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Snyder, who died in 1984.
Born in Dalton, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Anna J. Albright Parkton. Prior to her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Don's Restaurant in Downingtown Pa. After retiring she enjoyed living in Holiday, Florida for 30 years, before moving back to Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Abington Memorial VFW Post 7069 Ladies Auxiliary and the Holiday Gardens Civic Association in Holiday Fl. She was of Methodist faith, recently attending the Pitcairn Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Forbes, Coatesville; and Patsey Oswald and her husband John, N. Huntingdon; a sister Shirley Cosner, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Mary Gesek, two brothers Wesley and William Parkton; and her first husband Raymond L. Sherman.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. David Martin, pastor of the Pitcairn Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30am until time of service at the funeral home.
