Eleanor Story O'Brien,88, of Dalton, died Friday afternoon at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock. She was the wife of the late Audley "Chip" O'Brien who died in 1995.

Born in Tunkhannock, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mable Miner Story. Prior to her retirement she was a Medical Assistant for Clarks Green Medical Associates. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and their Ruth Circle.

Eleanor "Ellie" was a generous, kind, and loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader who enjoyed crafting. She loved Christmas, going to the beach, shopping, and having lunch with her friends.

Surviving are two daughters, Kay "Kitzie" O'Brien, Dalton; and Jill Hobbes and her husband Bob, Tunkhannock; a granddaughter Andrea Hobbes, Tunkhannock; and caregiver Sharon Cummings, Nicholson.

She was preceded in death by a brother David Story.

A graveside service will be held privately in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock, with services by Rev. Amy Raser, Pastor of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.

There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.
