Eleanor L. Grant

Eleanor L. Grant, 95, formerly of Tunkhannock, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at The Meadows Manor, Dallas, PA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Grant in 2007. She is also preceded in death by her husband Richard C. Patton who passed away in 1955 and her daughter Lorraine G. Patton who passed away in 1953.

Born on September 8, 1930, in Vernon, PA, she is the daughter of the late Harry Waldo and Katherine (Sickler) Cook.

Eleanor was a graduate of Beaumont High School. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Eleanor found great joy in caring for those around her and spending time with the people she loved.

She had a special talent for sewing and knitting, and over the years, her handmade creations found their way into the homes of nearly every member of her family. From afghans to baby clothes and countless other pieces, she put time and love into everything she made.

Family was always an important part of Eleanor's life. She enjoyed visiting with relatives, playing cards, and simply spending time together. Affectionately known as "Aunt Elner," she held a special place in the hearts of many.

Eleanor also enjoyed cooking and baking and found great pleasure in preparing meals and treats for family and friends. Additionally, she was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth Ely, Rachel Raker and Gladys Kile; her sons, Gary Patton (Karen Lefko), and Robert Grant (Carolyn Grant); 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

Those who knew Eleanor will remember her for her kindness, loyalty and her exceptional ability to listen. She had a way of making people feel heard, valued and cared for. While she will be deeply missed, her family will carry forward the love, memories, traditions and values that she gave them throughout her long and beautiful life.

Family and friends are invited to attend Eleanor's Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 99 E. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 to be celebrated by Rev. Patrick Albert and Deacon Ray Pieretti. Interment will follow in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton, PA.

A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass on Saturday.
