Eleanor West Goodwin, Clarks Summit, died Monday morning at age 92. She was the wife of the late Murl W. Goodwin.

Eleanor was born in Palestine, W.Va., the daughter of the late Ernest Clifton and Anna Hopkins West. She made her home in the early years in Lancaster, Ohio, before living in Clarks Summit. A 1936 graduate of Lancaster High School, she worked for the Hocking Valley Bank for almost 20 years.

She had lived in Clarks Summit for the last 48 years, where she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was an avid participant in the local AARP 3731, for which she was an officer for 19 years, and the American Business Women's Association. She also enjoyed her various card clubs.

Surviving are two nieces, Jayne McDowell Magerko and husband, Martin, Farnham, Va.; and Martha McDowell Guerin and husband, Dominique, Swampscott, Mass.; two nephews, Stephen West and wife, Pamela, Hebron, Ky.; and Jeffrey West and wife, Kathy, Columbus, Ohio; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn V. McDowell, and a brother, Jack C. West.

The funeral will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. William Carter, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Clarks Summit. Interment will be Dec. 28 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster.
