Elaine J. Green

Elaine J. Green, Clarks Summit, died on Sunday morning at Abington Manor after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of E. James Green, Jr. for over 56 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jean Farrell Gruszewski. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She worked at Angelo's Restaurant for many years and also worked as a florist. She was a very active member of Abington Memorial Post 7069 VFW and its Ladies Auxiliary, as well as Countryside Community Church. Elaine will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, and great friend to many.

She is also survived by daughter Beth Aquilina and her husband Damian, Scranton; granddaughters Victoria Dougherty and Vanessa Cottle; sisters Ellen Brazil and Jeanie Schneider, both of Scranton; nephew Cory Brazil; nieces Maura Newton and Courtney Lyons; and great nephew Noah Brazil.

Elaine was preceded in death by son E. James Green III, who died in 1988.

A funeral will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Interment will follow at Dunmore Cemetery.
