Listen to Obituary

Edward G. Wolff, 69, of South Abington Twp., passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Walter and Helene (Johnson) Wolff. Educated in Scranton, he graduated from Cathedral High School in 1969 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and marketing from Penn State University. Prior to his retirement, he worked in banking, supply house distribution and business consulting. He enjoyed playing baseball, running and skiing, and was a British sports car enthusiast.

His proudest achievement in life came from his children who survive him: Harrison Wolff and wife, Chelsea, of Scranton; and Corrine Wolff and fiancée Eric Edwards, with whom he resided until his passing.

Ed often shared with family and friends his vision of purposeful living: "Live life, love life and share life." He not only spoke these words, but also lived them in the relationships he built with family and friends. Throughout a 30-year journey with multiple sclerosis, he maintained a positive outlook, guided by his unwavering faith.

Ed is also survived by his sister, Anne Marie Tigue (Dunmore); brother, Walter Wolff and wife, Cindy (Wichita, Kansas); sister, Suzanne Gronski and husband, Robert (Moosic); cousin, Martin Wolff and wife, Isabelle, Dunmore; beloved former wife Valarie Clark, Clarks Summit; six nephews and a niece; and cousins.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, his doctor and lifelong friend, Dr. Thomas Minora, and Msgr. Joseph G. Quinn for their compassionate care, both physically and spiritually.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, at  9:30  a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit, by Msgr. Quinn, pastor. Social distancing guidelines will be enforced and masks will be required. Interment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William Street, Dunmore, PA 18510.
