Edward A. "Ted" Jackson, Moosic, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday evening at Allied Hospice, Scranton. He was married to the former Kathleen Hughes, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life for 51 years. The two were inseparable, whenever you saw one you knew the other was nearby.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward and MaryRuth Burns Jackson. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, received an Associate Degree in Accounting from Lackawanna College, and his Bachelors Degree in Business Education from Bloomsburg University. Later, he earned a Master's Equivalency in Education.

Ted proudly served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976. He was an avid New York Yankee and Penn State Nittany Lions fan. He was all about family and very proud of his three children and seven grandchildren and had a special bond with each.

His children were his Pride, a son Edward G. Jackson and wife Kristina, and daughters Mary McDonald and husband Steve, and Kathleen Venesky and husband Shawn. His grandchildren were his Joy: Andrew and Brady Jackson, Abby, Cate and Claire McDonald, and Grace and Jack Venesky. He had a special relationship with each and every one of them and always had a smile on his face when with them.

Family gatherings and family vacations were always his favorite and he was the happiest when everyone was together. His motto was "family first".

He is also survived by a brother, Gerard Jackson and wife Carol, Jessup, PA; his cousin whom he considered to be his sister, Michele Duffy and husband Mike, Vestal, NY; sister-in-law Mary Murphy and husband Dennis; brother-in-law James Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Gerald and Rita Hughes, a brother James E Jackson and wife Beth, and sister-in-law Barbara Jackson.

The family would like to thank Dr. Barry Minora and staff; Dr. Namrata Patel at the Harron Lung Center University of Pennsylvania Hospital, and Allied Hospice and Palliative Care for the care and concern. A special thank you also to Kara Mohan.
