Edward A. Stroud III died October 17, 2012, at his home in Clarks Summit, Pa. He married Joan Marie McHugh on June 25, 1960.
Born July 14, 1937, in Kingston, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward A. Stroud Jr. and Mary Jean Johnson Stroud.
He received his bachelor's in electrical engineering from Villanova University and master's in management engineering from Long Island University. He received an honorable discharge from the Navy Reserve in 1963. After 35 years, Edward retired in 1994 from the Grumman Corp. of Bethpage, N.Y., as vice president of program management for Space Station Freedom.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Marie; four children, Cynthia M. Halpin, Edward J. Stroud, Mara Lee Silverman and Paul J. Stroud; son and daughters-in-law, Kevin Halpin, Kathy Stroud, Lisa Stroud; and six grandchildren, Aisling Halpin, Thomas Stroud, Cassidy Halpin, Jaclyn Stroud, Alison Silverman and Edward Silverman.
A Mass of Christain Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, PA 18411, to be celebrated by Rev. John M. Lapera, Pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
