Edward Floyd Morristell, 61, of Dalton, died Saturday morning at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. His wife of thirty nine years is the former Brenda Ford.
Born in Scranton son of Marjorie Wood Morristell, who cherished her son, and the late Edward Morristell. He was a graduate of Abington Heights High School. At eighteen he moved to Huntington Station Long Island where he met his wife Brenda and started Euro Auto Techs, a very successful European auto repair shop. His love of cars, especially Volvos, had led him through a career which involved every aspect of the auto industry, including sales. Upon returning to Pennsylvania he continued his European automotive business by opening the Country European Garage in Dalton. He feared no Volvo! Ed also attended aviation mechanics school and even acquired his pilots license.
Ed loved racing, which gave him his nick name " Fast Eddie". He also enjoyed spending time motor cross racing with his sons. His Thursday nights would be spent playing Bocce Ball with his friends. Ed had a deep love for animals and was know for adopting dogs from the animal shelter.
Ed was a family man with a big heart and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Also surviving is a son Edward J., Lake Winola; a sister Debra Graham, Homestead Fl.; a mother in law Marian Ford, Long Island,; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son mark Jon.
The funeral service will be held Thursday a 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. With services by Rev. John J. Victoria, of the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
