Edward "Eddie" Kapp, 82, died at his home in South Abington Township on Saturday, July 4 th .  He was the widower of Helen Marie Kasper Kapp, who died in 2017.  They were married over 60 years and she was the absolute love of his life.

Born in West Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward and Maureen Joyce Kapp.  Eddie was educated in the Scranton Schools and was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran.  Prior to retirement, he was in the trucking business and, at one time, he owned Eastern Auto Transport of Palisades Park, New Jersey.  For the last twenty-three years of his career, he hauled test vehicles for Ford Motor Company Research and Engineering of Dearborn, Michigan, transporting to the various test facilities and traveling in 48 states, Canada, and Mexico.  He personally compiled over five million miles of driving.  For several years, he was also a commercial pilot who owned two of his own airplanes.

Eddie was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, the Italian-American Civil Rights League, the Victor Alfiere Society, and was active in the Pittston Bocce League. Having an unstoppable zest for life, he participated in many things, such as skydiving, auto racing, and enjoyed many trips to Italy with his beautiful wife.

Surviving are three sons, Michael Kapp of Mechanicsburg, Sean Kapp and his companion Susan Duckworth of Waverly, and Mike Sisson and his wife Kim of Alpharetta, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Beth Kapp of Pittsburgh; a brother, Robert Kapp and his wife Louise of Olyphant; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Steven Kapp.

A private mass of Christian burial will be held with services by Rev. Stephen Asomah, Assistant Pastor. Entombment will take place in Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
