Edward C. Hope of Clarks Summit, formerly of Cobbs Lake Preserve, died Friday morning under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice, Dunmore. His wife is the former Marilyn Scotti. They were married for 38 years.
Born March 3, 1926, in Cleveland, son of the late Peter and Ann Hope of Miami, his love for aviation was demonstrated during his career with PanAm, Falcon Jet Corp., and Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Force. He traveled around the world and loved every minute of it. He always wanted to return to his favorite country, Portugal.
Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Diamond and husband, Ed, Chadds Ford; and Joan Delgado and husband, Agustine, North Port, Fla.; three grandchildren, Angela, Alicia, and Cole.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis and Mary Rose; and a brother, Peter.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Robert Gattorna, pastor of Parker Hill Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Suite 500, Pittsburgh, 15219.
