Edward George Artfitch, 88 of Harding, PA, formerly of Flagtown, NJ, died on Tuesday, March 10 at Riverstreet Manor in Wilkes-Barre, PA. His wife was the late Janice Noecker .

Born in Newton Twp, he was the son of the late Julius and Kathryn Morris Artfitch. Ed was a proud Navy veteran serving in Okinawa during WWII. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service as a maintenance mechanic for 42 years. He was a founding member of the Hillsborough Presbyterian Church.

Ed was a master woodworker. He loved working with model trains, watching old Westerns and playing his guitar, organ and accordion. He could fix anything. Time spent with his family was always special to him.

Ed is survived by his daughter Leslye of Chinchilla; three sons, Wayne, James and Dale K and his wife JoAnn of NJ; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Louise, a grandson, Dale E.; three brothers, Julius, August and Otto Artfitch; four sisters, Anna Colger, Elsie Mikula, Emma Radkiewicz McAloon and Lydia Ross.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm by Rev. Anthony Schwartz, pastor, Chinchilla United Methodist Church at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA. Interment will be held at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Dickson City.
The family will receive friends on Saturday 11 am until time of the service at the funeral home.
