Edward Archabald, 93, formerly of Scranton and North Abington Twp., died July 5 at Abington Manor Nursing Home. His wife, Mildred Siglin Archabald, died Oct. 19, 2003. They were married for 44 years.

He was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Scranton, son of the late Adolph and Mary Rollins Archabald. He was a resident of North Abington Twp. for more than 55 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and, prior to retirement, he was a dispatcher for Kroehler Furniture Co. in Binghamton, N.Y., for 25 years. He also worked as proprietor of the Carousel Diner and, later, as a security guard for Lackawanna County Long Term Care.

For the past 20 years, he was an avid fan of all sports at Abington Heights High School.

He and his wife were devoted members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Dickson City.

Surviving is his brother, George Archabald. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Victor; and two sisters, Ruth Hogan and Betty Thomas.

There will be a memorial service Aug. 1 at 10am for Edward and Mildred at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Reese Street, Dickson City.

As per their wishes, they will be laid to rest together in Evergreen Cemetery, Dickson City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edward Archabald Scholarship, c/o Abington Heights School District, 200 E. Grove St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Arrangements by the Lawrence E.
