Edith M. MacIntire, of Clarks Summit died Friday, October 27, at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility in Scranton.  She was the widow of William MacIntire who died on July 1, 2003.

Born in Eriel, NJ she was the daughter of the late Clarence and B. Violet Grainger Copeland.  Prior to her retirement she was a Real Estate Agent for O'Boyle Real Estate in Clarks Summit; in 1989 she was named realtor associate of the year for the state of Pennsylvania.  Previously Edie was the co-owner of the Globe Market in Scranton; and a book keeper for the A&P, where she met her husband in New Jersey.   She was a devoted Episcopalian attending Grace Reform Episcopal Church and the Church of the Epiphany in Glenburn.  She was extremely active in raising money for numerous charities.

Edie was always happy to see her many friends, she was kind and loving, especially as a volunteer at Allied Services every Thursday for 37 years.

Surviving are her two godchildren, Kurt Wilson, Charlotte NC and Kristi Wilson, Grand Island, NY; many nieces and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 1 at 10 am at the Church of the Epiphany, 25 Church Hill, Clarks Summit (Glenburn Twp.), PA 18411 with services by Fr. F. Graham Cliff, interim priest and Pastor Michael Blitz, Grace Reformed Episcopal Church.  Interment will follow in the Memorial Garden at the church.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 332 Wheeler Ave., Scranton, PA  18510, or the Church of the Epiphany in Glenburn, or Grace Reform Episcopal Church, 104 Laurel Dr., Scranton, PA  18505.
