Edith Bisner Keen died Tuesday evening at Abington Manor in Clarks Summit. She was the widow of Donald S. Keen, who died in 1970.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., daughter of the late Walter and Florence Jersey Bisner, Edith and her husband owned Keen's Pharmacy on State Street in Clarks Summit. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit and a former member of Juanita Chapter 8, Order of the Eastern Star, Clarks Green. She attended Hackensack Business College in New Jersey. She was a former member of the Abington Heights Student Aid Committee and was instrumental in starting the hot-lunch program in the Abington Heights School District.

She was known as the neighborhood grandmother who always found beauty in people and nature.

Surviving are a son, Donald S. II and wife, Betty, Clarks Summit; two grandchildren, Christine Spangler, Clarks Summit; and Terry Tuthill and husband, John, Burke, Va.; and three great-grandchildren John, Erin and Allison Tuthill.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Decker and two brothers Robert Bisner and Allen Bisner.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church, 300 School St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. William Carter, pastor. Interment will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday, from 10 until the time of the service, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit for its music and worship program.
