E. Carolyn Sanders

E. Carolyn Sanders, 85, of Fleetville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton, PA. She was the widow of the late John W. Sanders of Allentown, PA.

Carolyn lived in Northeastern Pennsylvania for over 70 years where she had numerous friends and family. She was an extremely active volunteer for various organizations. She was a Lackawanna Trail High School PTA member; founding member of the Lackawanna Trail High School Friends of Music Boosters; first female member of the Lackawanna Trail School Board; a Member of the planning and zoning boards; Secretary/Treasurer of the Baylor's Lake Association; golf league president; Waverly Community House woman's club member, and bridge club participant.

Carolyn also enjoyed wintering in Port Charlotte Florida for over 20 years, where she organized Rally for the Cure Golf Tournaments raising money for over 15 years to fund cancer research. While in Florida, she was extremely active in the Maple Leaf Golf & Country Club and the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Lynne Richardson and her husband Robert; son, John and his wife Kathy; son, David and his wife Barbara; daughter, Lydia Hill and her husband Scott; grandchildren include Robert, Brianna, John, Christine, Gregory, Brian, Jackson and Seneca; great-grandchildren include William, Benjamin and a third great-grandchild due at the end of the month.

She was a long-time member of the Dalton United Methodist Church in Dalton, PA,

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Dalton United Methodist Church, 125 S. Turnpike Rd, Dalton, PA 18414, conducted by Rev. Lori Robinson, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family..

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church.
