Dorothy Yckowski, 99, a resident of Willowbrook Assisted Living Community, formerly of Justus, died Tuesday at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center. Her husband of 67 years, John Yckowski, died March 20, 2009.
Born July 1, 1914, in Justus, daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes Antoine White, she was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne Opeil and her husband, Fran, Greenfield Twp.; a grandson, Mark Opeil and his companion, Jana, Dundaff; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Ethan; a sister-in-law, Irene Powell, Justus; two nephews, Joe and Ken Powell; and a son-in-law, Ronald Kresge.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Y. Kresge, in 2007.
The family would like to thank the staff at Willowbrook for their compassionate care while Dorothy was a resident.
As was Dorothy's wish, there will be no calling hours or public services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Justus.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
