Dorothy "Dottie" T. King, 83, of Mill City, died Tuesday morning in the VNA Hospice unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the widow of the late Robert King, who died in 2001.
Born in Flagstaff Maine, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Annette Murray Targett.
Dorothy was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved quilting, crocheting, knitting, and gardening. But her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters Deanna Beyrent and her husband Charles, Ransom; and Joanne Prudish, Mill City; four grandchildren Jeremy Anderson and wife Judith, Newton; Erika and Joseph Beyrent, and Melanie Anderson, Swoyersville; several great grandchildren; four brothers Edwin "Teddy" Targett and his wife Rita; Victor Targett and his wife Renee, David Targett and his wife Betsey, and Donald Targett and his wife Bertha, all of Maine; a sister Diane Pelkey and her husband Tom, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers Erwin Jr. "Brother", Herbert "Mike", Hugh, and John Targett, and a sister Mildred Milliken.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 7 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit; Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Family will receive friends Friday from 5 pm until time of service.
