Dorothy M. Jacoby went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1920, in Newton, Pa., She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Emily Maunder Jacoby.
Dorothy worked as a seamstress at Abington Manufacturing Co. for 45 years and for Smart Styles for five years before retirement. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and a former member of Newton United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Joe and Mary Lou Noto, Thomas and Monica Noto, Diane and Mike Powel, Emily Titus, Wendy and Brian Konopka, David and Faye Thomas, Donna and Phillip Womble and Paul and Beth Thomas, all of whom will fondly remember her for sewing beautiful clothing and many family gatherings at her Clarks Summit home. Even though she had no children, she was like a second mother to us all.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, 1310 Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Amy Raser, pastor. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.
