Doris Marie Parry died peacefully Friday at home surrounded by her daughters.

Born January 10, 1926 to William and InaBelle Travis Eising, she was 94 years old. She was married 40 years to the late President of the Clarks Summit Borough Council, Harold B. Parry, who died in 1987.

She enjoyed working as a waitress for over 20 years at the Summit Diner, where she met her beloved Harold. She was then his secretary for his Nationwide Insurance Agency for many years. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. She served as communion Steward, Nomination, Spiritual Growth, Council on Ministries, Outreach and Organ Committees. Choir, MYF advisor, Bible Study, Adult Issues and Non-Peril Sunday School classes. Esther Circle and United Methodist Women. Involved with many fund-raising activities of the church. Served 4 years on Scranton District United Methodist Women Special Missions for the former Wyoming Conference of the UMC. Member Joseph W Hall Clarks Summit Fire Company #1 Aux. Co-organizer Charter member and Officer Ladies Aux VFW Post 7069, Cedarettes NEPA Forest #137 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Consistory Ladies Aux, Irem Legion Ladies and Women's Aux, Commandry #17 Ladies Aux, Abington Assembly #128 Rainbow Girls Advisory Board. She was a 65 yr member of Grace E. Barthold Chapter #216 Order of Eastern Star. Served 5-year Treasurer of the Site Counsel and 6 years Treasurer of the Senior Citizens Center of the Abingtons.  Volunteer of Clarks Summit School Lunch Program Charity fund raising programs yearly. Assistant Girl Scout Leader and Neighborhood Cookie Chairperson for many years. Allied Services volunteer for many years. Doris was known as the Cookie Lady at Allied Skilled Nursing and Chairperson from 2004-2014. She participated in many fundraisers for Allied.

Doris loved working in her garden. She was recently awarded the 2020 Backyard Conservationist for Lackawanna County. Registered to vote from July 1947 and voted every election thru June 2020. Served on the Executive Committee of the Clarks Summit Republican party. "If you don't vote, don't complain."

Survived by: Daughters Susan Bitterman and husband William and Ruth Parry of Clarks Summit. Son and daughters-in-law Wayne & Melita Breeden, Hayes, VA. Grandchildren Susan Buck and husband Dale, Winfred, SD; Cindy Shonk and husband Mike, Longview, WA; Jill Brogan and husband Tom, Scranton and Harold Price, Clarks Summit. Great grandchildren Kayla and Haley Shonk, Dakota Buck, Courtney Price, Keira and Thomas Brogan.

She is joined in Heaven by her beloved Daughter Linda Lou Breeden, Sisters Eleanor Ryan, Kathryn Sickler, Marion Kuska and Ruth Hoshauer; Brothers William and James and Granddaughter Carli Bitterman.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses from CMC through out the years, the numerous doctors that cared for Doris all her life and Allied Home Hospice for all they have done.

Services were held privately at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with interment at Abington Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
